Spring 2022 Consortium Meeting at EPFL in Lausanne

On Friday, June 3rd, the ENLIGHT consortium came together at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland. This meeting marked the first time the partners met in-person since the project kick-off in May 2021.

The day began with a welcome and project overview by the Project Coordinator, Riccardo Levato (UMCU). The leaders of the five scientific work packages then provided updates about their first year of progress:

  • WP1 – Optogenetic control of cell fate – Andreas Hierholzer (ETH Zurich)
  • WP2 – Matrix-mimetic bioresin – Jan-Philip Zegwaart (Rousselot)
  • WP3 – Multi-wavelength tomographic bioprinter – Christophe Moser (EPFL)
  • WP4 – Optogenetic volumetric bioprinting and culture of complex organoids – Riccardo Levato (UMCU)
  • WP5 – Assessment and applications of the bioprinted functional organoids – Carmen Caiazza (UNA)

Following the scientific discussions, the consortium reviewed the status of exploitation and innovation potential of the ENLIGHT technology. The day concluded with a session on Responsible Research and Innovation given by Angela Simone (FGB).

A public summary of the first year of project progress will be available by August 2022.
